I started my Bootcamp journey back in may, a year after major spinal surgery. I spent a year unable/not allowed to exercise and developed depression and terrible eating habits, of eating takeaways 3 times per week. I put on a lot of weight and when I joint bootcamp I was at my heaviest.
I couldn’t do basic movements like swinging my hips backwards for a burpee or a single pull up on the bar. But with support from Jen, I leant stretches to help with my back issues and with Rees and Erin pushing me, my ability and strength greatly improvement.
I lift heavier, my form has improved and I can do multiple burpees in a row (still hate burpees though). I also made a group of friends at bootcamp that challenge me to do more.whether that is pull ups after sessions (up to 4 now) or planning challenges outside of Bootcamp.
My eating habits still need work and I’m far from getting my marathon runners body back from my 20s, but bootcamp is helping me go in the right direction.
